Camera the Third

Did I say that there were four cameras present? Stretching the truth a little perhaps. The third 'camera' was my Holga, made entirely of plastic and loaded with entirely inappropriate film.
Still...

First up, it's time we took a look at the crowd:

that free beer:

and some of my favourite fans:

You've got to give it to the crowd and the staff; no shortage of Santa Hats, which made us feel a lot less stupid when we put them on. Quite reasonably however no-one other than Stuart donned a Jock Cap when it came time for 500 Miles:

While Stuart goes for the carrot-top and tartan those of you (the many of you) who've been to more than one of our gigs might have noticed that Les like to don a flag come the third set. It was Union Jack night tonight:

And, finally, just to prove that we can also play unadorned:

Just a reminder that should you click on any picture it should open up a big, full screen version. Should you wish to see them bigger?

As the film has yet to be removed from the fourth 'camera' it may, what with the time I'm devoting to putting up Christmas decorations, be a while before its pictures start appearing. So have a great Christmas and see you, with some new pictures, in the New Year.

Oh, and another...

Oh, what do I mean there aren't many pictures of Stix? Here'd be another.
In my favourite black & white and no red...

Enough?

Have you had enough of those black and white pictures with the red bits in red? Well I've had enough of creating them. Time for something in colour I think...

Give The Drummer Some

It was a bad stage for poor old Stix (not that he's old). Drummers might be used to being at the back but, if anything, they usually get to sit up on high. Not at the Conlay Club: tight against the back wall, down in a dip, it's no wonder that there aren't many photos of him.
But we do have the one...

Number 2

Camera Two has turned up. The one that belongs to Graeme Rae. Thank you Graeme for taking the pictures, and for sharing them with us. Any manipulation (yes, pictures don't come out of cameras in black and white and red) would be my fault: apologies for anything I may I have done to your images.

Another View

Well the first of those cameras has turned up.

And I said there was no Santa Claus?

Thank you Jane for taking the pictures, and for getting them to me so quickly.

Merry Christmas

Well, Christmas gig over, it's time to put up the tree, stuff the turkey and watch The Great Escape. Most of the band and, I'm sure, a lot of you, will be departing KL to enact the time honoured ritual at home and thus, I'm afraid, no more gigs until the new year. There's a tentative date lined up for the first one so check back and we'll let you know when it's confirmed. Also don't forget to come back for some more pictures: there were at least four cameras at the gig last night and when I track down the pictures you'll be able to relive seeing just how silly a rock band looks in Santa hats.

Have a Happy Christmas and a Rockin New Year
Krude

Ho Ho Ho...

Well you've obviously been good boys and girls. Santa brought you all an unexpected present last night didn't he. Free booze for all. Oh, OK, I know (children stop reading now) Santa doesn't really exist does he. The beer came courtesy of Baker Hughes, a big thank you to them for providing it, and I trust you all appreciated it.

Of course we always get free beer but last night we also had free champagne, a (delayed) fourth birthday present from Gail. Completely unexpected but very much appreciated, thank you very much Gail.

Finally, but not unimportantly, thanks to all of you who turned up, it's seeing you all dancing and having a good time that make it fun for us.

Have you been Naughty?

Or Nice?

Ah, it doesn't matter, we're not Santa Claus, we're not here to judge you, just to entertain you with the best Christmas Rock n Roll.

Yes, it's just a reminder that tomorrow night it's...

Get your Santa hats ready, and see you there...

The Conlay Club

As promised, should you click here, you'll find a map that should light your way to the Conlay Club and, on the 9th, the best rock n roll in KL.

For those of you who prefer words, it's next door to the Prince Hotel. Out the front door and turn left if you are one of those who live in the Prince. Between the Prince and the Bon Ton Restaurant for those of you coming from further afield.

See you there...

It's Kristmas Time...

Just three days until you can open the first door on your advent calendar and sneak that early morning chocolate.

Just twelve days until the best rock n roll party of the festive season.

Yes, for the last time this year, it's Krude Live...

Note that it's at the Conlay Club, a new venue for a Krude gig, but a good one that you'll all enjoy. For those of you that don't know it check back and we'll have detailed directions tomorrow.

Make a note in your diary and we'll see you all for a Krude Kristmas...

Thank You...

...to everyone who turned up. Hope you enjoyed the gig as much as the band. The only downside so far as this website is concerned is that I don't know of anyone who took any pictures.

And now...I'm going to start a rumour...that we'll be playing again at a big Christmas bash on December 9th. Yes I know it's not really Christmas on December the 9th but it's the last weekend the whole band is in town before the holidays take over. More details will follow as it gets firmed up. Now there's a good reason to pop on back here and keep yourself up to date.

Just a day to wait...

Unless, like me, you are up too late, by the time you read this you've just one day to wait until...

See you there

No Riverside Jam this weekend

Just a quick note, the Riverside Jam, down in Melaka, has been cancelled this weekend. Next weekend is on however with Ocean of Fire coming down from Penang to rock those of you taking a break from wandering around the red buildings.

To help you on your way...

I know many of you are regulars at our gigs and know Little Havana well. But once in a while I meet someone who's not fortunate enough to have been there yet (because you should frequent it once in a while even when we're not playing there). Thus, to help you out, here's a link to a Map of Little Havava.

Now there's absolutely no excuse for not popping by for a boogie.

Shake on down to Little Havana

Not, if you've being paying attention, new news but still the most important news of the week. It's ...

Krude Live
Saturday November 4th
Little Havana
8:30 until late

Get your dancing shoes ready and see you there...

Greener

I know it's another picture of me. But, you see, the rest of the band wasn't green like me. Perhaps the lure of photographic attention will have them coming over to join me stage right next Saturday Night.

Green

Here we are. That picture of me in green from the last gig. Just makes you want to get up and do it all over again. Oh, and we are. Next Saturday, the fourth, back upstairs at Little Havana.

Thanks a bunch to Sue for taking the picture and letting me use it. Hopefully see you, and your camera, along with everyone else in just eight days time.

Keep Next Weekend Free

There I was wandering through a small village somewhere up in the mountains in Laos, and my phone rings. How, I don't know, but five minutes later it was sorted, Krude will be playing live again on November the fourth. Yes, that's next weekend. I'm afraid that I've only just returned so the poster and details will have to wait until the weekend, but take this as the advance notice that you'll be needing your dancing shoes next Saturday.

Should you be down Melaka way...

Following up on the huge success of the Jonker Walk Music Festival, Mark, of the Rock n Roll Blues Cafe down in Melaka, is now organizing a series of gigs/jam sessions every Saturday & Sunday afternoon in November, down by the riverside, behind the tourist centre, just follow your ears. So if you're in town and getting a little tired of all those red buildings, or you're just looking for a good excuse to get on down to Melaka town, go check out some good ol' rock 'n' roll music.

Know Any Good Songs?

It's that sad time of year when holidays predominate the calendar and there's no gigs on the horizon. Which means it's a good time for us to be learning new songs, and a good time for any of you to recommend those you might like to hear at the next gig (news of which will appear here soon). Just click the comment button below and send us your suggestions.

Back in Black...and white

I'm sorry, still no pictures from the gig last weekend. They are coming, promise, including one of me lit up luminous green, or so it looked on the back of the camera on the night.

In the meanwhile some of you might remember that I promised you more photos from Melaka. So here in the glorious black and white in which they were shot (anyone remember film?) are, above, Les, wailing on his Les, and, below, Johnny Coma, taking time off from organizing the whole bash, to front his Boneshakers.

JWMF II...Already!!!

I've not even finished uploading my pictures from this years mega-bash and already they are planning next year's follow up. Word is they are aiming for Merdeka Weekend again, and next year is, of course, Malaysia's 50th birthday, so it should be a huge party. Probably a little soon yet to block off your diaries but keep an eye on this site and we'll let you know when to start making your reservations.

Wow...

Just a magnificent night: from the first chord to the last cry for an encore, the house was full and the house was rockin'. It's difficult to imagine that audiences get much better than all of you last night. A big Thank You from the band for making it a great night.

More thanks to our sound guys for delivering the best sound we've ever managed in Little Havana. We'll be using you again.

Finally an apology for not having any pictures to show you yet, but they will be coming, promise, so check back again in the coming days.

A Lazy Afternoon

Not content just to rock the night away the guitar boys got their acoustics out for a leisurely unplugged set on the Saturday afternoon. With the sun belting down through a clear blue sky it was too hot to do anything other than order a cold beer and chill out listening to them.

More Melaka...

Finally our own pictures of that fabulous weekend start rolling through. As is my want, and as I took the pictures, even if on Paul's camera, I think I'm allowed, I've turned everything black and white. If you ask very nicely I might show some in colour. Until then...first up, Paul, Gav and Wilf making the heat of the night even hotter, and a close up of Paul.

That picture...

This was a complete accident, the result of my new camera being too complicated to use, reckoned at the time to be a complete failure, but you gotta just love this picture, and if you click on it, it gets even better, well, bigger.

Come on Baby...

It's been too long hasn't it.
But in just three weeks Krude will be back where they belong, upstairs at Little Havana,

The Wall Comes Tumbling Down

This weekend will be a sad day in the KL music scene as the live music hangout, The Wall, closes its doors. The good news is that it's due to reopen somewhere new in November but until then Saturday will be the last night. If you haven't been yet, this'll be your last chance. If you have been then you'll want to come along and say goodbye.

Lost in most people's memory Krude did, once, play a short set in its previous incarnation as Titus Blues Avenue but never, despite being invited, seemed to organize ourselves to play a full gig. Hopefully we'll still be asked once the new Wall opens and we'll actually get around to doing it. Until then there's the farewell bash on Saturday. More details over on liveatthewall.blogspot.com and see you there.

More Pictures...

Courtesy of Chan, the manager of the Geographer Cafe, Mark has now posted a third set of pictures of the big bash in Melaka. Some pictures giving a much better idea of the fun the crowd was having. As well as this one of the best looking guy around!

Thanks for posting them Mark. Go check them out at http://photos.yahoo.com/rocknrollgrill and click on JWMF3.

That was a blast...

I don't know what else to say really. Great weekend. Big old stage in the middle of Melaka. Packed tables as far as the eyes could see and the sides of the stage thronged by those coming in off Jonker Street. Great sound. Great Music. And lots and lots of free beer.

These would be the first pictures I've received, courtesy of Mr Mark Ruffin, to whom thanks also goes for organizing the bash. May this have truly been the first annual Festival.

There'll be more pictures appearing here as and when I get them. In the meanwhile there's more of Mark's pictures over at http://photos.yahoo.com/rocknrollgrill and then go looking for the galleries called JWMF1 and JWMF2. There's pictures of all the bands who played and you'll find Krude somewhere near the bottom of each gallery.

Thanks to everyone who made the weekend possible and to all of you who turned to be a part of it.

Some Times

There's a program taking shape for this weekends rock n roll blast in the streets of Melaka and it looks like Krude will be up and rocking at 1am Friday night (Saturday morning) and again at 11pm on Saturday night.

Of course this is Malaysia, so those times could change a bit. But it shouldn't matter too much as there's five bands and one of them will be entertaining you non-stop from 8:30 through till 2am on both nights.

Look forward to seeing you there...

In The Papers

You're not supposed to believe everything you read in the newspapers. In this case it doesn't really matter because I can't read a word of it, but I'm told this is all about how wonderful the Jonkers Walk Music Festival is going to be. And if you can't read it either there's only one way to find out: get yourself down to Jonkers Street and boogie on down to some great rock n roll.

More Posters

Don't ask me why but every couple of days I get a new poster for the Jonkers Walk Music Festival. So if you didn't like the guitar playing cat and drumming baby, how about some, well I'm not sure what it is either..

But it means that you should be in Melaka Friday and Saturday night.

Krude Live in Melaka

This coming weekend, Friday and Saturday nights, in the middle of Jonkers Street in Melaka, Krude will be performing live as part of the 1st Annual Jonkers Walk Music Festival 2006. I believe there's a couple of stages around town but we'll be on the Rock n Roll stage right outside the Geographer Cafe. Things are scheduled to kick off at about eight with five or six bands performing through to the wee hours of the morning. When we'll be on I don't know but don't worry, just come and listen to all the bands perform.

How did I get here?

There you go trying to find the Krude website and the next thing you know you are here. Apologies. The Website has been suffering from some technical problems recently and I realize that it's a little out of date with our current happenings. Therefore, to keep you better informed, at least for the time being, here's a Krude blog.
